Hey, somehow you’ve found your way to the Foodstuff blog. Thanks for coming.

I’m Michael “Miguel” Kuntz. I’m a food explorer currently based in West Marin county. I’ve been getting my jollies from all the sauces and spices out there since way back when. I’m a culinary hobbyist, sometimes a professional, certainly a devotee. I’m a glutton, hooked on those tastes and textures, always collecting new experiences. The euphoria that it gives me is my gateway drug. It keeps me coming back. It holds my attention long enough so that i can find fascination in the deeper, more subtle aspects of the culinary world. It guides me into contact with cultures different from my own, urges me to think like a scientist, activist, historian, sociologist, even a writer of speculative fiction. When I look at food with that curious or critical eye, it reveals itself to be a work of absurdist theater, written in poetic verse and populated with characters of such ingenuity, brutality, and plain kindness, that each in turn can give me cause to lay awake at night. What to do with such an intense subject? Blog about it of course!
Foodstuff is here to chronicle and share my various food explorations in a variety of formats and mediums. Think recipes, articles, sound bytes, musings, art series, interviews, single subject deep dives, short stories, etc. If you’d like to contribute to the blog, give us an email at wwwwwwwww.
